Pathology.

A consultant-led pathology workup across 7 groups — haematology, biochemistry, hormones, lipids, inflammation, pathology screening and stool tests.

What it is.

Pathology is the bit that tells you what is actually happening inside your body right now — chemistry, cells, hormones, inflammation. Most private check-ups run a standard 20-marker panel and leave it there. We do not.

Our pathology workup spans seven grouped panels across haematology, biochemistry, blood fats, hormones, inflammation, screening and stool tests. Every result is reviewed by your consultant before you see it. No algorithm flagging things in red. No "speak to your GP" email when something looks off.

You can book this on its own as a standalone read, or layer it into a full Checkpoint assessment.

Who it’s for.

You want a full annual blood baseline, not a tick-box panel.

Family history

You have a family history you want to keep an eye on.

Symptoms to investigate

You have symptoms that need investigating — fatigue, weight change, hormone shifts.

Tracked over time

You want hormone, cholesterol or inflammation markers tracked over time.

Second opinion

You have been told "your bloods are fine" but want more depth.

What to expect.

A short consultation, a routine blood draw by a trained phlebotomist, and a stool sample kit if QFIT is indicated. Results return within 48 hours and are reviewed by your consultant before being released — no "abnormal range" emails with no context.

Frequently asked.

How is this different from a GP blood test?

A standard GP panel covers ~20 markers. Our pathology workup covers 7 grouped panels including hormones, full lipid subfractions, inflammatory markers, vitamins, minerals and cancer-related markers. Every result is reviewed in context by a consultant, not flagged by an algorithm.

For cholesterol and glucose accuracy, yes — 12 hours water-only fasting before the appointment. We will confirm this in your booking email.

Most markers return within 48 hours. A small number of specialist tests (e.g. hormone panels) may take up to 5 working days.

Your consultant will explain the finding in person or by call, the same day where possible. We arrange the next step — repeat test, specialist referral, or NHS handover — and stay with you until that step is booked.

Yes. If you would like to add a FibroScan, ECG, or imaging on the same visit, mention it in your enquiry and we will pre-arrange it.
